What it means in practice

Raw logs are $365 a year on top of traffic. Image processing is metered per operation, and their own wording is that each image counts as at least one, so a page that serves three variants of every photo is billing three operations per photo. Add $1 a month for every zone past the third, and push zone storage from $0.12 per GB a month.

Why ours works differently

A Prometheus endpoint, Grafana, Alertmanager and OpenTelemetry are on every account at no extra charge, and raw JSON logs for Graylog or ELK are a $50 a month add-on. Image variants come from a query string on your own domain and are cached like any other file, so they cost what the bytes cost and nothing per operation. We do not charge per zone.

Our pricing is progressive, like tax brackets: $5 on the first 5 TB, stepping down to $2.50 on traffic above 1,000 TB. KeyCDN tiers are marginal in exactly the same way, and the figures above use their published North America and Europe rates. Above 100 TB their table says to contact them for discounted volume pricing, so a large account may well pay less than list.

The three questions everyone asks next

Your network is bigger than ours

It is, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. They publish 60+ data centers in 40+ countries across six continents; we publish 25+ locations and 26 ms average latency across the US and EU. What decides it is where your viewers actually are, so test both on your own files. Our numbers are on Performance Metrics.

Do I have to move everything?

No. Most teams move the heavy traffic first, video, builds and downloads, and leave the rest where it is.

What about the extras I already use?

Keep them. If you rely on their push zones, FTP subusers or image hosting, those stay where they are. Split by workload: the extras stay, the terabytes move.

Six places where we win

Not opinions. Each of these is a line item you can check on an invoice or in a config screen.

One rate, not three zones

Their table prices the same terabyte at $0.04, $0.08 or $0.10 per GB depending on the continent, and the gap holds or widens at every tier. At 200 TB that is $3,600, $7,200 or $11,200. Ours is $765 inside the regions we publish.

Raw logs are not a subscription

Their own pricing page puts log forwarding at $1 per day, which is $365 a year on top of traffic. Ours are JSON for Graylog or ELK, plus a Prometheus endpoint, Grafana, Alertmanager and OpenTelemetry, on every account at no extra charge.

Image variants cost what the bytes cost

They meter image processing at $0.40 per 1,000 operations and say each image counts as at least one. Ours come from a query string on your own domain and are cached like any other file, with nothing charged per operation.

Storage at $0.02, not $0.12

Push zone storage on their side starts at $0.12 per GB a month charged daily, stepping to $0.08 and then $0.04. Our permanent cache is $0.02 per GB a month with the first 500 GB included.

The rate keeps falling past 100 TB

In North America and Europe their published ladder ends at $0.01 per GB above 100 TB, which is $10 a terabyte, and past that the table says to contact them. Ours keeps stepping down on its own to $3.50, then $3.00, then $2.50 a terabyte, with nothing to re-sign.

Speed and shape you control

A download speed cap per account, per domain or per URL, rate matched delivery, TTL up to 365 days with a separate TTL per HTTP status code, and cache warm-up through the API before a release.
