Video Hosting on a CDN
Move your library off Vimeo, Wistia or your own server and let it live inside the CDN: SSD storage replicated across Europe, Asia and America, served from the closest node. You keep your player and your encoder.
From $5/TB down to $2.50/TB, so 100 TB of playback is about $415 a month · 14-day testing period on real traffic · $25 monthly minimum waived · Engineer reply within 3 business hours

What replacing a video host actually involves
Not just video files
- Video: MP4, MKV, AVI, FLV, WEBM, MOV, and more.
- Audio: MP3, AAC, WAV, FLAC, and others.
- Miscellaneous: ZIP, ISO, PDF, EXE, and more.
Content Storage with Global Redundancy
Your video content is stored on SSD-based storage, with three copies of each file replicated across three continents. In case of server failures or outages, your content remains accessible without interruptions.
- Storage Locations: Distributed across Europe, Asia, and America, ensuring global accessibility and minimal downtime.
- Cloud Storage Integration: Use Cloud Storage as an origin for your CDN, enhancing the flexibility and scalability of your content delivery setup.

Questions buyers ask about video hosting on a CDN
BlazingCDN Video CDN hosts a video library inside the CDN: upload MP4 once by panel, API or FTP, and players receive HLS or MP4 from the closest node. Storage is SSD-based and replicated across Europe, Asia and America. Playback costs $5 down to $2.50 per TB (as of October 2026), so 100 TB is $415.
How much does hosting a 3.5 TB video library cost?
BlazingCDN stores a 3.5 TB library in the Video CDN permanent cache for $50 a month (as of October 2026). The first 500 GB are included, and the remaining 3,000 GB cost $0.02 per GB per month. Playback is billed separately as delivered traffic.
For example, 100 TB of monthly playback adds $415 per month, and 20 TB adds $92.50. BlazingCDN charges no per-seat fee, no per-view fee and no request fee, so a viral clip costs only its bytes. A library kept in the customer’s own S3 bucket or FTP server can serve as origin instead, which removes the storage line. Cloud Storage is a third option at $0.015 per GB per month. The $25 monthly minimum applies to delivery. Per-seat and per-view pricing grows with the audience, while the BlazingCDN rate per TB falls as volume grows.
How does BlazingCDN turn an uploaded MP4 into HLS?
BlazingCDN Video CDN stores the uploaded MP4 once and packages it into HLS on request, so the same file can play as HLS or as progressive MP4. Packaging does not re-encode the video. Quality and bitrate therefore stay exactly as uploaded.
Because BlazingCDN does not transcode, any rendition ladder must be encoded before upload. Chunk length can be set to 2, 4, 5, 10 or 30 seconds with keyframe alignment, and the first chunks are pre-cached so playback starts quickly. For example, a lecture uploaded as one 1080p MP4 plays at 1080p, with 4 second chunks if the team chooses that length. Uploads work through the panel, the REST API or FTP, and imports can be automated. The player stays the customer’s own: any HLS or MP4 player works, and the paywall stays in the customer’s own stack.
Is BlazingCDN a good replacement for Vimeo or Wistia?
BlazingCDN replaces the storage and delivery part of Vimeo or Wistia, but not the player, the editor or the encoding. Teams that already have a player and an encoder gain one per TB bill from $5 down to $2.50 (as of October 2026), with no seats and no view counts. Teams that need a hosted player, marketing analytics or automatic transcoding will not find those features here.
BlazingCDN suits media libraries, corporate training, product demos and online courses served through a player the team controls. Supported uploads include video files such as MP4, MKV, WEBM and MOV, plus audio and downloadable files like PDF or ZIP. Real-time statistics show bandwidth and traffic patterns through the panel or API. For example, a course platform with its own paywall can keep logins and payments in place while the Video CDN serves the lectures.
How do I migrate a video library off my current host?
BlazingCDN migration for a video library usually starts with a bulk import, and onboarding with an engineer takes about one hour. Files can arrive by FTP, through the REST API, or by pulling from an existing origin such as an S3-compatible bucket. Imports can run ahead of time or lazily on the first request.
The current host keeps running during the move. BlazingCDN can serve as a second CDN behind DNS with a weighted traffic split, so one channel or one region moves first. The 14-day testing period runs on real production traffic after a KYC check. For example, a team can move its 50 most-watched videos first, compare playback for two weeks, then import the long tail. Embed codes change to the new hostname, while the player and the encoder stay the same. Support is 24/7, and an engineer replies within 3 business hours.
Where is hosted video stored, and what if a server fails?
BlazingCDN keeps Video CDN content on SSD-based storage replicated across Europe, Asia and America, so one server failure does not take a file offline. The permanent cache holds three geographic copies with checksum validation, and data self-heals after a drive failure. Viewers are served from the closest node through Anycast routing with built-in failover.
The first 500 GB of permanent cache are included, then storage costs $0.02 per GB per month (as of October 2026). Measured June 2026 on a 100 MB HTTPS download, latency was 27 ms in Europe, 24 ms in North America and 47 ms in Asia. For example, a viewer in Singapore and a viewer in Chicago both pull the same replicated file from nearby storage rather than from one origin. Cloud Storage can also act as the CDN origin, at $0.015 per GB per month.
