Why is it worth using CDN?

What is CDN?

CDN – Content Delivery Network, i.e. a network of many computers connected to each other, storing in their memory, on their disks data recorded by customers like you. Such a network of computers is connected to the Internet, in different places, in different countries.  CDN is also an Internet service (Webservices) that allows you to access and use this network, usually for a small monthly fee. For example, the data or content you create in Excel, Word, or other programs is stored on your local computer or on the firm server.  This applies to your favorite DVX movies, MP3 songs or programs installed on your computer.

The value of data or content today is largely determined by the quality of access – how quickly a web page is loaded, how smoothly it is possible to watch streaming video, how quickly interactive applications respond. In many ways it is the user’s experience. A fast website with a good response is a sign of the quality of the material offered, including advertising. The efficiency of CDN

The efficiency of CDN is largely determined by how close the points of its presence are to the content consumer. Therefore, many large CDNs have tens of thousands of edge servers with global coverage. At the same time, the coverage of existing CDNs has significant overlapping areas. Finally, relatively small CDNs, most often deployed within an Internet access provider or corporate network, cannot achieve high efficiency due to limited coverage.
